
Ikram Mohammad Ibrahim-Malaysian High Commissioner to Pakistan, said an agreement was made, Al-Haj group and Proton to Set Up a factory in Pakistan.
Al-Haj group Pakistan made an agreement with Malaysia’s automaker Proton Holdings to bring electric and other green vehicles in Pakistan.
This will bring approximately of $200-300 million investment to Pakistan.
Al-Haj Group after successfully launching multiple cars of FAW will now be bringing in modern and high-tech vehicles in different categories which includes hatchbacks and mid-level sedans, SUV crossover and multi purpose vehicles

Proton was set up in 1983 and is one of the major brands in Malaysia also it hold stake in Brtish brand Lotus.
Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan are expected to witness the groundbreaking ceremony of Proton’s plant on coming Friday.
Prime Minister Mahathir will begin his three-day official visit to Pakistan today.
According to Malaysian High Commissioner to Pakistan, the construction of the car plant was one of the important elements of bilateral trade and investment relationship between the two countries as Proton was Dr. Mahathir’s brainchild during his first tenure as the Prime Minister.
Both leaders, he said, would also have an in-depth discussion on efforts to increase trade relations between the two countries.
Pakistan and Malaysia’s are very stong trading partners in South Asia . Ikram Saying further that Pakistan is Malaysia’s largest export market in South Asia and the third largest import destination.
“In terms of bilateral trade, Malaysia is Pakistan’s 16th largest trading partner last year,” he said.
